Get your MOBSS-routes known!

How to publish your route on MOBSSmaps?

Every RouteMaker has the possibility to publish new MOBSS climbing routes on MOBSSmaps. For this purpose, MOBSSmaps uses Google my maps. Please familiarise yourself with my maps before you start using MOBSSmaps.

MOBSSmaps are limited in their size due to the volume that Google offers and can therefore only include routes in a certain region or sub-region in a country. An example is the MOBSSmap for IBIZA (sub-region) which is an island of the BALEARIES (region) of Spain (country).

MOBSSmaps should be structured in a uniform way so that you and others can find your way around them easily. Please keep this in mind if you publish your routes on MOBSSmaps.

The MOBSSmap for IBIZA should serve as a template for other MOBSSmaps.

There are two ways to enter a route.

  1. You want to add a new MOBSS route to an already existing MOBSSmap
  2. You want to add a new MOBSS route to a MOBSSmap that does NOT yet exist.

1. You want to add a new MOBSS-route to an already existing MOBSSmap

To add a route to an existing MOBSSmap follow the following instructions.

A) send us an email to routemaker@rockdogs-sport.com with the heading “EDITOR” and the respective map on which you want to add a new route. For example, if you want to add a new MOBSS route to the IBIZA map, the title of your email should be “EDITOR IBIZA”. Then we at r.o.c.k.d.o.g.s know immediately on which map you want to enter a route and for which map we can grant you access authorisation. To do this, we need your name and address. You can also write us some more information about you and your route. Please write in English, Spanish or German.

B) As soon as we have activated you as an EDITOR, we will send you an email . Please be patient. This may take several days. IMPORTANT for you: When you log in to MOBSSmaps for the first time, you automatically agree to the terms of use for MOBSSmaps. These we will send you together with the access authorisation. We have to do this to protect our maps from misuse. Please read these terms of use carefully and do NOT log in with your username if you do not agree to them. Essentially, it’s about ensuring that there is a consistent approach to entering routes and that you agree to the etiquette of behaviour on MOBSSmaps. It is very important to us that our MOBSSmaps in general and the entries of other RouteMakers are being respected and not changed nor deleted.

When entering your route, please use the existing entries as a guide and follow the instructions that precede each MOBSSmap:

This map is showing climbing routes which use MOBSS (mobile safty system).

The holes in the route are marked in the same colour (RED, PINK, GREEN) as the icon.

DARK GREY icons show a MOBSSified route. That is an existing route where the holes for MOBSS are found close to the old bolts. Sometimes they are marked.

BLUE icons show a whole sector of MOBSS routes.

DARK BROWN icons show a sector of existing routes of which some or all have been MOBSSified.

2 You want to add a new MOBSS route to a NOT yet existing MOBSSmap.

If you want to add a route in an area for which there are no MOBSSmaps yet, please contact us by email. Write to us at routemaker@rockdogs-sport.com with the heading “NEW REGION“. Please tell us in this email more about the region and where it is located. Preferably include a location on Google Maps. Usually you know this region much better than we do. It is important for us to know if it is a big climbing area and/or if there is a big potential for new MOBSS routes, as one MOBSSmap can only list about 2000 routes. If there are more routes or more potential for new routes, then it makes sense to divide the area into further sub-areas. In addition, we need your name and address. Please write to us in English, Spanish or German. We will then create a MOBSSmap for this new region and send you the terms of use and access authorisation for this map. Please be patient. This may take several days.

With the access authorisation you will be an editor with all its rights and duties. Please proceed as described under 1.You want to add a new MOBSS route to an already existing MOBSSmap. Always use the MOBSSmap IBIZA as a template and make sure that the entries are as uniform as possible.

Good luck with your entries. We hope you will publish many new routes on MOBSSmaps.

If you want to be listed as a RouteMaker and author on MOBSSmaps on our site rockdogs.com/routemakers, send us an email to routemaker@rockdogs-sport.com with the heading “NEW ROUTEMAKER” and a short description about yourself (maximum 200 words), a photo of yourself (maximum size 200KB) and your MOBSS routes. Please use the existing entries as templates. By sending us this mail, you automatically agree that we may edit your text. If you do not agree with the entry, you can ask at any time for this entry to be deleted. To do so, send an email to routemaker@rockdogs-sport.com with the heading “DELETE ROUTEMAKER“.
