How to repair a MOBSS ?
The video (with subtitles in SPANISH, ENGLISH & GERMAN) will show you how you can repair a MOBSS yourself. This can be done without much effort once a part is broken.
The 3 most common parts that are susceptible:
– Plastic pull-out flap
It can easily break off with frequent or improper use, especially if you try to drive the MOBSS back into the hole with a carabiner (so that you can remove it), and the frequent blows either make the pull-out flap brittle or cause it to break. Also, violent repeated pulling on a MOBSS that is difficult to remove will stress the plastic and cause this pull-out flap to break sooner or later. It is one of the more vulnerable parts of the MOBSS.
– The sleeve
This is another vulnerable part that can bend under heavy loads. It is also susceptible to corrosion and may need to be replaced after prolonged use.
– The two plastic washers
They are there to allow the load plate to move freely without unscrewing the MOBSS. These special rings can wear out and break due to frequent use and stress and in that case must be replaced.
The procedure is simple. You need either the MOZI, pliers or a 13mm spanner to loosen the cone from the anchor bolt. To do this, use the 13 mm spanner or the MOZI on the hexagon head screw and unscrew the cone on the other side. If this is difficult, use pliers (or the MOZI).
Once you have removed the cone, the rest is easy; now you can take apart the various parts of the MOBSS and, after replacing the defective part, reassemble them in reverse order. What can be a little more complicated, a little more difficult is to drive the plastic flap out of the sleeve. To do this, you usually have to push it down over the small groove and, after replacing it, push it back in the reverse case. This is designed to be difficult, so that the pull-out flap sits firmly at the end of the sleeve.
The assembly is simple. You take the screw, put the knurled head over it, then a plastic washer, then the load plate, the second plastic washer, followed by the sleeve with the pull-out flap and finally you screw the cone back on.
Now the MOBSS is mounted again. It is important to apply finally a screw lock, a screw-locking-lacquer. In its original state, the MOBSS is still slightly jammed here. This is important so that the cone always sits a little in the sleeve! But all this has already been explained in our video on how to set and remove a MOBSS.
IMPORTANT NOTE
Any opening of the cone voids any remaining warranty on the MOBSS. With the exception of the MOBSS being repaired by a certified r.o.c.k.d.o.g.s professional/mechanic, we then can no longer accept any liability.
